Who I Am.

My name is Hazel Goetz and I am currently a senior at Thomas S. Wootton High School! I found my love for musical theater when I was 10, and since then, nothing has brought me this great amount of sheer joy like performance does.

At the start of my 8th grade year, I had just moved to Kentucky. Once there, I found Classic Melody’s Performance Institute, CMPI. Working with them allowed me to expand my dance skills, vasten my acting choices, and form wonderful connections with people! While taking classes at CMPI I met Collette Priddy, an amazing singer and actor. Her vocal training has helped me like no other, which is why I still take online vocal lessons even after moving to Maryland!

When living in Kentucky, I attended Youth Performing Arts School, or YPAS, for the first two years of high school. YPAS was a performing arts school attached to DuPont Manual High School. We had the luxury to perform musicals, plays, and student led productions called “New Works” every year. It was such an honor to be one of the 15 kids chosen for this musical theater class out of the 200 kids that auditioned!

Now as I currently live in Maryland, I've been honing my craft with the amazing people at Young Artists of America, YAA. Despite me seemingly coming out of nowhere, the people at YAA quickly accepted me into their family and it has been the most enjoyable place to do what I love. I have never worked harder, learned more, and dreamed bigger in any other place!

I've always loved creating and sharing my art, and before I had found my passion for musical theater, I focused on drawing and painting! Performance is my main outlet, but I still love to put effort into art pieces such as this one!
